Cristian Zuzunaga was born in 1978 in Barcelona. The child of a Catalan mother and a Peruvian father, his multicultural background instilled in him a strong sense of curiosity, a desire to explore the world and look at ways in which to define it and one’s place within it.
From the age of 17, he lived and travelled the world, eventually settling in London where he lived for more than 13 years. Zuzunaga studied a BA in Typo/Graphic Design at the London College of Communication, followed by an MA at the Royal College of Art.
Since he graduated in 2007, Cristian has collaborated with Tate Gallery, Kvadrat, Nanimarquina, BD Design, Wallpaper, Hastens and Ligne Roset among others.
Cristian received the coveted Elle Deco International Design Award for Best Fabric Design in 2011, for his Skyline curtain collection by Kvadrat and most recently, in 2014 he received the prestigious Wallpaper Award for Best Pixelation category.
